Frequently asked questions.

I don’t have insurance. Can I still book a session?

Of course! We offer both self-pay and sliding scale options for individuals without insurance.

I need to cancel my session. What does that process look like?

You can easily cancel your session by texting or emailing. We require 24 hour notice for all cancelations and reschedules. If you are unable to cancel within 24 hours, there is a no-show fee of $75. Please remember that a lack of communication when cancelling does have an impact on both your therapist and other clients who are seeking care; please be mindful when you need to cancel!

What if I am going to be late for a session?

If you are going to be more than 15 minutes late for your session, your session will automatically be cancelled, and you will be charged a late fee. If you know you are going to be less than 15 minutes late, please let our therapist know when they can expect you.

I’ve never been to therapy before. What does a first session look like?

In a first therapy session, your therapist will introduce themselves, and explain the therapeutic process. This will also be a time your therapist will set expectations. Together, you will discuss your goals for therapy and any concerns you might have. You will have the opportunity to talk about what brings you in, your experiences, and what you hope to achieve. This session is an opportunity for you and your therapist to get to know each other and begin building a therapeutic relationship. This session is also your opportunity to ask any questions you might have about therapy or the process.

What happens if I miss multiples session in a row?

We do try to be flexible with our cancellations and understand that life happens. However, if you miss 3 or more sessions in a row, your therapist does have a right to terminate the therapeutic relationship. Again, please remember, your cancellation does impact both your healing journey and the therapist. So, it is important to communicate, and be realistic with how much time you can commit to therapy.
